Sports Centre

The Sports Centre has two sports halls available for private hire, a fitness gym, weights room, changing rooms and a studio area. Membership of the centre is open to juniors and adults and includes use of the fitness gym and a variety of classes for those aged over fourteen years.

A holiday club offering a wide range of sporting activities is held throughout the Easter and Summer holidays for five to eleven year olds.

Extended Schools

Uplands Community College is a designated extended school and offers a range of services to children, young people and their families.

For college students there is a range of activities that take place during the midday break and after school. There are also a number of clubs and opportunities in PE, Dance, Drama Music and Science. Parents of students interested in learning an instrument should contact the school. Free transport home to Ticehurst, Stonegate, Burwash, Etchingham, and Hurst Green is offered to students who have stayed for activities. The minibus leaves at 5.00 pm from outside the Drama Studio.

The school nurse is available on a ‘drop in’ basis on Wednesday lunchtime. She uses the office off the Crush Hall.

Uplands has a team of dedicated school counsellors and students can make appointments through their tutors.

Wadhurst Youth Club is open on Thursdays from 7 to 9 pm (term time only) at Uplands Community Centre. It is a friendly youth provision open to all young people in Year 7 and above. The club aims to support young people's personal and social development, offering them an opportunity to socialise in an informal and safe environment, as well as participating in the various activities on offer including craft, cooking, issue based discussions and much more. The programme of activities is designed by it members. Professional and supportive staff are always on hand to provide young people with Information and Guidance. Cost is £1 per session.

ACRES an adult learning programme covering a wide range of subjects (recreational, vocational and academic) is organised by Adult College for Rural East Sussex (ACRES) throughout the year. Facilities for hire

Community Bus

Uplands Community College also runs a community bus which is available for hire by schools and local organisations.  The minibus can seat up to fourteen children, two adults plus the driver or sixteen adults plus the driver. The newly refurbished Community Centre is now available for hire.
