“Uplands Community College is a successful and forward thinking school.” (OFSTED 2009)

Uplands is dynamic, forward thinking, proud of its many achievements and yet has the integrity to face up to the many challenges in the world today.  Central to our success is a commitment to high quality teaching and learning and a belief that learning is not just about leaving school with a clutch of certificates, but ‘preparing for a future we cannot imagine’ in which all young people can succeed.  Our recent HMI inspection (Sept 2010) stated ‘students engage in genuine learning enabling them to be better prepared for the long term future’.

Uplands has a history of success.  It become a Specialist Technology College in 2001 and this success was reinforced by the award of our second specialism in 2006, for Performing Arts with English, and subsequently a Specialist Science College in 2010.

We are delighted with our recent OFSTED report that gives Uplands Community College a Good overall, with many Outstanding features.  We achieved Outstanding in 40% of the grades given by OFSTED which is a measure of the progress that we have made since our last inspection.
